Cubs’ Crow-Armstrong Becomes MLB’s Seventh 40-40 Player

Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong became the seventh player in Major League Baseball history to record at least 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a season, reaching the mark by stealing second base against Miami on Thursday. The 24-year-old is the first Cub to achieve the feat and joins José Canseco, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Alfonso Soriano, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Shohei Ohtani in the 40-40 club. Crow-Armstrong had 45 home runs when he reached the milestone, setting a career high and strengthening his case as an NL MVP contender. His historic season comes as Chicago pursues a playoff berth.
