Rockies Reach Fourth Straight 100-Loss Season

The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Colorado Rockies 7-2 at Coors Field, guaranteeing Colorado its fourth consecutive season with at least 100 losses. The Rockies became only the fifth team in major-league history to reach that mark and the first since the 1962-65 New York Mets. Former Rockies All-Star Nolan Arenado had three hits, while Michael Soroka allowed two hits over seven innings for Arizona. Colorado has gone 7-26 since a promising mid-August stretch, with a major-league-worst 5.57 team ERA and 6.20 ERA among its starters. Injuries, inconsistent young pitchers and late-season offensive struggles have contributed to a broader decline that includes only two playoff appearances since 2010 and MLB’s worst record since the start of the 2023 season.
