Francisco Lindor hit his 300th career home run in the second inning of the Mets’ season finale against the Nationals on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at Nationals Park. He drove a 92.9 mph fastball from left-hander DJ Herz 409 feet into the left-field seats for his 21st homer of the year and first since two on Sept. 12. The milestone made Lindor the first shortstop in MLB history with 300 home runs and 200 stolen bases (he has 219 steals). He became the fourth infielder to reach the dual marks, joining Alex Rodriguez (696 HR, 329 SB), Jeff Bagwell (449 HR, 202 SB) and George Brett (317 HR, 201 SB). Lindor is the 172nd player overall to 300 homers and the seventh to do so in 2026. He finished the season with 62 RBIs in 105 games after missing time with a strained calf; 162 of his 300 homers have come since the Mets acquired him before 2021. Coverage is uniformly left-rated and treats the blast as a rare statistical bright spot in a Mets season that missed the playoffs for the second straight year.
