Seahawks sign Adrian Martinez amid Darnold injury

The Seattle Seahawks signed quarterback Adrian Martinez to their practice squad after ruling out Sam Darnold for Sunday’s game against Arizona because of a quad injury. Drew Lock is expected to start, but his elbow injury and recent inactivity make Martinez additional depth behind Lock and Jalen Milroe. Martinez, a former 49ers player with one NFL regular-season snap, earned UFL MVP honors and won a championship with the Birmingham Stallions in 2024. Seattle also added linebacker Jamie Sheriff to its practice squad.
