Lions Hand Vikings First Loss, 19-15

The Detroit Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings 19-15, ending Minnesota’s 6-1 unbeaten start and improving Detroit to 5-2 with a third consecutive win. After Minnesota took a 15-12 fourth-quarter lead, Jared Goff threw a seven-yard go-ahead touchdown to Jameson Williams; Detroit rushed for 230 yards, including 153 by Jahmyr Gibbs. The loss raised questions about Minnesota’s offense: Kyler Murray threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns, but the Vikings scored only 15 points and Justin Jefferson had limited involvement. Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was hospitalized for evaluation after a neck injury; the team said initial indications were positive, and coach Dan Campbell later said he was improving, without providing a diagnosis or return timetable.
