Shanahan Praises Daniels Before 49ers-Commanders Matchup

The undefeated San Francisco 49ers host the 1-3-1 Washington Commanders on Monday night, with attention on quarterback Jayden Daniels after his late-game mistake contributed to a 27-27 tie against the Giants. Despite the criticism, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Daniels has the tools to become one of the league’s best quarterbacks, praising his accuracy, arm strength, poise, ability to make plays in the pocket and dangerous running ability. Daniels took responsibility for the error, which left Washington without a chance to attempt a game-winning field goal. Shanahan expects the Commanders to pose a significant challenge as San Francisco seeks to extend its unbeaten start.
