Aiyuk Hires Agent to Pursue NFL Return

Brandon Aiyuk has hired agent Drew Rosenhaus, who says he is working to get the 28-year-old wide receiver back in the NFL. Aiyuk has been away from the 49ers since a serious knee injury in 2024 and was placed on the reserve/left squad list in December 2025; he must seek reinstatement before he can play and has not yet formally done so. San Francisco still holds his rights, but team leaders have indicated he is not in its plans, and the team voided about $25 million in future guaranteed money. If Aiyuk seeks reinstatement, the 49ers would have to decide how to handle his contract; a release appears more likely than a trade, though no decision has been announced. His earlier push for a trade to Washington failed.
