Falcons Rookie Daniels Hospitalized With Neck Injury
Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels was ruled out with a neck injury and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after a third-quarter collision while tackling Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland on Oct. 18, 2026, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Medical staff cut off his jersey, immobilized his neck, strapped him to a board, and removed him on a cart. He moved his left hand and made a fist. Broadcast announcer Kevin Burkhardt said Daniels was conscious and that every precaution was being taken. Tom Brady said it was hard for teammates to watch and that they would represent him the rest of the game. Players from both teams took a knee; the Falcons bench came onto the field. Daniels, a fourth-round pick out of Oklahoma, had started all six games, entered with 22 combined tackles, one sack and one pass defended, and had taken over defensive play-calling after Divine Deablo left with an arm injury. CONTESTED: none found in record. Rated outlets agree on the injury mechanism, cart exit, and hospital transport. His condition after arrival at Grady Memorial Hospital was not detailed in the coverage.
