Seahawks Defense Set to Test Bears’ Rushing Attack
The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 in Seattle, improving to 6-2 and dropping the defending champions to 4-4. In his Bears debut, newly acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons recorded six tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and a pass breakup as Chicago pressured Sam Darnold and held Seattle to 252 yards and one third-down conversion on 11 attempts. Caleb Williams completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown without a turnover, while D’Andre Swift scored three second-half rushing touchdowns. Jaxon Smith-Njigba led Seattle with 118 receiving yards and a touchdown, but the Bears secured the win after an interception helped set up their final score. Chicago has now beaten both teams from last season’s Super Bowl in consecutive weeks.
