Eagles’ Barkley sells Polymarket stake under NFL rules
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley says he gave up his equity stake in Polymarket after the NFL’s rules prohibited players from investing in or promoting prediction-market companies. The league confirmed it treats prediction markets like sportsbooks under its player gambling policy, while declining to discuss Barkley’s case specifically; Polymarket also declined to comment. The NFL has kept prediction-market firms out of its commercial partnerships and barred their advertising, even as it partners with traditional sportsbooks. Its stance differs from other major leagues, including the NHL, MLS, MLB and NBA, which have established or announced relationships with prediction-market platforms.
