Cowboys Lose 33-30 to Cardinals After 14-Point Collapse

The Dallas Cowboys blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and lost 33-30 to the Arizona Cardinals in overtime, dropping to 3-5 and intensifying criticism of their defense, play-calling and coaching. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones called the loss an indictment of the organization and a team failure, defended coach Brian Schottenheimer and said he was not considering a midseason coaching change. Executive Stephen Jones said Dallas remained open to roster moves but was focused on its next game against Indianapolis. Cowboys legend Michael Irvin sharply criticized the coaching staff on ESPN, while the team’s playoff hopes remained technically alive in a struggling NFC East.
