Antonio Brown Gets Three-Year Probation in Shooting Case
Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a firearm in a deal resolving the attempted-murder case over a 2025 shooting outside a Miami celebrity boxing event. Police alleged he took a gun from a security staffer and fired two shots at a man he had fought earlier, grazing the man’s neck; Brown said he acted in self-defense. The plea withholds adjudication, so Brown will not have a criminal conviction, and spares him a potential 30-year prison sentence. A judge sentenced him to three years of probation, requiring weekly counseling, a psychological evaluation and any needed treatment, and barring him from possessing firearms. Brown may seek early termination after about 18 months if he meets the conditions; prosecutors cited uncertainty about proving the shooting was intentional and the victim’s unwillingness to cooperate in offering the reduced charge.
