Lions-Dolphins Injury and Tight End Matchup Concerns

Miami running back Jaylen Wright is questionable for Sunday’s game against Detroit and, if active, is expected to have a limited role behind Ollie Gordon. Miami’s defense has allowed seven above-average tight ends to combine for 34 catches, 396 yards and five touchdowns, and now faces Detroit’s Sam LaPorta. The Lions have injury concerns: cornerback D.J. Reed, who has a hip injury, defensive end D.J. Wonnum and center Cade Mays were absent from the portion of Thursday’s practice open to media; Wonnum is in concussion protocol, and Mays has an ankle injury. Linebacker Jack Campbell remains sidelined while recovering from a neck injury, and Detroit is preparing to play without him. Brian Branch returned to full participation Thursday, while safety Kerby Joseph remained limited as he works back from the physically unable to perform list.
