Packers Assess Jacobs Ahead of Lions Game

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs and quarterback Jordan Love practiced Thursday and are expected to be available for Sunday’s pivotal game against Detroit, though the team will continue assessing Jacobs after his six-week absence. Coach Matt LaFleur said the team would ramp Jacobs up and evaluate him through further practice, and said he had no concerns about Christian Watson or Matthew Golden playing. The Packers’ run game has struggled, with coordinator Adam Stenavich citing negative runs and the challenge of integrating newer players; Love’s receivers have dropped a league-high 19 passes, according to Pro Football Focus. Seattle also has one of the NFL’s worst rushing rates, with 52.6% of its carries stopped at or behind the line, but Zach Charbonnet is expected to debut Sunday and right guard Anthony Bradford is expected back. Green Bay’s 23-13 win over Dallas also featured 11 penalties for 96 yards, including costly infractions that extended drives.
