Steelers Cancel Paris Fan Event Amid Unrest

The Pittsburgh Steelers canceled their planned Steelers House fan gathering at a bar in Paris’s Bastille neighborhood, citing recent unrest and security concerns. The cancellation does not affect Sunday’s Steelers–New Orleans Saints game at Stade de France, the first regular-season NFL game in France, which remains scheduled as planned while the league coordinates security with local authorities; the NFL said other fan events have not been disrupted. Protests over rising living costs and concerns about public services and school conditions have included violent clashes, looting and arrests. The decision to proceed with the game has drawn safety concerns and criticism, including from Dani Watt, wife of Steelers star T.J. Watt.
