49ers Weigh Pursuit of Chargers’ Khalil Mack
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle asked general manager John Lynch about pursuing Chargers pass rusher Khalil Mack as the unbeaten team considers defensive reinforcements before the Nov. 10 trade deadline. Mack, 35, has three sacks for the 0-5 Chargers and is playing on a one-year, $18 million deal; a trade would likely make him a short-term addition. San Francisco also tried to acquire Mack in 2018. Mack has said he is focused on Los Angeles and believes the Chargers can contend, while analysts have floated a possible Eagles offer of a 2027 fourth-round pick. These are speculative trade discussions, not a completed deal.
