Vikings Stand Alone Undefeated, Chargers Winless

The Vikings are the NFL’s last undefeated team while the Chargers are the last winless team, an unprecedented Super Bowl-era contrast: Minnesota missed the playoffs last season, while Los Angeles reached the postseason. Minnesota’s 6-0 start has come despite unusually low offensive production; it has scored just four offensive touchdowns in its past five games and only 125 points overall, yet continues to win. The Chargers’ collapse and Minnesota’s turnaround are especially striking compared with their meeting a year ago, when Los Angeles dominated. The Vikings face a difficult upcoming stretch, and their strong start does not guarantee a playoff berth, though the last undefeated team has reached the postseason in every season since 2017.
